Good Morning and Happy Monday! Please watch part 2 of the love canal video and post on your reflection blog the answers to the following questions:
1.) What caused the toxic waste to begin being pushed to the surface?
2.) What are some of the health hazards associated with the chemicals dumped there?
3.) Besides humans how are other parts of the ecosystem affected by this?
1. The blizzard of 77 caused the river to rise, which in turn pushed the chemicals to the surface.
2. Many of the chemicals caused cancer, caused liver and kidney problems, nervous system problems, and birth defects.
3. The black creek, north of love canal, has Bren infracted by the same chemicals, so animals who live and drink from it will openly consume benzene, dioxin, and xylene.
